Salmon fishing

Experience the thrill of catching your first salmon

We have more than thirty years experience fly fishing for salmon and can offer guided days and trips to the Rivers Wye and Usk to give you to the best chance of catching your first salmon.

Improve your Spey casting on the River Wye

Today, thanks to the Fishing Passport scheme set up by the Wye & Usk Foundation, it is possible to enjoy some great fishing on the Wye and Usk. Just as with our guided trout days, we’ll arrange access, provide tackle where needed, help you choose the right fly and advise on the best methods for fishing in the prevailing conditions.

For newcomers to salmon fishing we can demystify the hype around Spey casting techniques and equipment. It is a very satisfying skill to learn and you’ll soon be in with a chance of hooking your first fish.

I took a day’s double-handed/spey-casting tuition and guiding on the River Wye. Mark helped me to find, cast to, hook, play, catch and release my first fly-caught salmon.

I would never have had the confidence to attempt this on my own,  nor known where to start,  so thank you for a memorable experience and introduction to salmon fishing.

The salmon fishing season on the Rivers Wye and Usk extends from the beginning of March to the middle of October.

Enjoy salmon and sea trout fishing on the River Dee

The River Dee in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, is an iconic salmon fishing destination with some of the best fly fishing water in the UK. We’ve been lucky enough to fish there for 30 years and organise regular salmon fishing parties on the river.

If you are interested in fishing on the River Dee we can advise on the tackle and flies you will need and put you in touch with the local estates and ghillies to get access to the best of the salmon and sea trout fishing.

All salmon and sea trout fishing is on a catch and release basis.
