Terms and Conditions

All guiding, courses and tuition will be with Mark Purvis.

Guided Days

  • A full day is 7.5 hours including 30 minutes for lunch. Half a day is 4 hours. Start times can be flexible to accommodate you and the river and weather conditions.
  • Prices vary depending on the fishery and time of year. The price for each guided day will be dependent up on the exact nature of your booking and confirmed following your initial enquiry. 25% payment is required as a deposit with your booking. Balance of payment is required 48 hours before the guided day.
  • As fishing can be unpredictable, it may be possible to extend your time on the river on the day at a cost of £30 per hour.
  • Price includes necessary fishing permits and the loan of all necessary tackle and flies. You are responsible for the purchase of the Environment Agency Rod Licence (available here for 1-day, 8-day or 1-year). Lunch is not included in the price.
  • Eye protection must be worn at all times and head protection in the form of a hat or cap. If you refuse to wear these items, then we reserve the right to cancel your tuition/guiding and to charge the full remaining balance. If you don’t have suitable protective equipment, sunglasses and a cap will be supplied on a free of charge basis for the duration of your guided trip.
  • Your guide will show you how to handle all fishing tackle/equipment loaned to you for the duration of a guided day. In the event that damage to the equipment has been caused by mishandling, you will be charged the wholesale cost of repair or replacement.
  • We advise the use of a buoyancy aid or lifejacket when boat fishing and for deep wading on large rivers. Please note that we do not hire or loan buoyancy aids or life jackets.
  • If required, pick up is included from your home, accommodation or a local station up to 5 miles from our base in the Cotswolds or the fishing location. Longer journeys if required will be charged at 45p per mile.
  • In case of adverse weather which affects the safety of the fishing, makes the river unfishable or makes transportation to the location impossible, we reserve the right to offer an alternative venue or a credit note for an alternative date in the future. If no alternative is accepted the booking will be considered cancelled and no refund will be made.
  • No shows: we will wait for 60 minutes at the pick-up location or fishing site. If we do not hear from you then this will be treated as a cancellation and no refund will be allowed.

Individual and group tuition

  • Tuition is available by the hour or as a half day or full day session. The cost will depend on the length of the lesson. There will be an additional charge to cover fishing permits where the tuition takes place at a commercial fishery.
  • The price of the session will be confirmed following your initial enquiry. Full payment is required in advance with your booking.
  • Price includes the loan of all necessary tackle and flies. If tuition takes place at a fishery you are responsible for the purchase of the Environment Agency Rod Licence (available here for 1-day, 8-day and 1-year). Refreshments are not included in the price.
  • Eye protection must be worn at all times and head protection in the form of a hat or cap. If you refuse to wear these items, then we reserve the right to cancel your tuition and to charge the full remaining balance. If you don’t have suitable protective equipment, sunglasses and a cap will be supplied on a free of charge basis for the duration of your session.
  • If required, pick up is included from your home, accommodation or a local station up to 5 miles from our base in the Cotswolds or the fishing location. Longer journeys if required will be charged at 45p per mile.
  • No shows: we will wait for 60 minutes at the pick-up location or fishing site. If we do not hear from you then this will be treated as a cancellation and no refund will be allowed.
