Sadly, our rivers are not as pristine as they should be. Agriculture and sewage pollution have caused water quality to decline, with a damaging effect on the vegetation, insects and fish that live in the rivers. We’re trying to tackle this in the Evenlode catchment by working with wildlife groups, farmers and the water industry to find solutions in partnership. Mark was recently interviewed by the New Scientist to give an opinion on the damaging effect of pollution on water quality.
